- A huge congratulations is in order for two of our AREC members, Don Robertson and Bart Kindt who both received recognition at Government House this week, at the New Zealand Search and Rescue (NZSAR) Awards.
Don Robertson received an award for his service and commitment to AREC. Joining AREC in 1979, Don worked his way up into leadership roles including Group Leader, Central Area Manager, National Director, then finally CEO.
His achievements include developing a successful business case for Government funding, and modernising the organisation by identifying and implementing essential organisational needs including training, policies and systems.
Bart Kindt received an award for the development of SARtrack Incident Management Software. Bart's software is used by various Land Search and Rescue groups for tracking teams and providing key information during a search, which has undeniably had a positive impact on Category 1 SAR Operations. (AREC Regional Manager Lindsey Ross received the award on behalf of Bart)
Well done Don and Bart, we are proud to have you 👏
